Canadian Airlines cleans up the Skytrax Airline Awards

the skytrax annual airline awards are out, and Canadian companies are once again front and center.

Directed by Air Canada Along with five awards, this year’s Skytrax ceremony also featured major awards for Transat, WestJet and Porter Airlines.


Air Canada was named Best Airline in North America for the third consecutive year and recognized for Best Business Class Lounge Meal in the World, Best Airline Staff in Canada, Best Business Class in North America and Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness in North America at Skytrax World 2019. Airline Awards Ceremony held today at the Paris International Aeronautics and Space Show. This is the eighth time in the last ten years that the carrier has been selected as the best in North America by the World Airline Awards, which are based on satisfaction surveys of more than 21 million travelers worldwide. .

The Star Alliance, of which Air Canada is a founding member, was also named the best airline alliance in the world by Skytrax.

Air Transat also came with major hardware, winning the award for the world’s best leisure airline for the second year in a row.

WestJet has been named Canada’s Best Low-Cost Airline by Skytrax.

Porter Airlines was named Best Regional Airline in Canada.

For all North American airlines, Air Canada finished first, while WestJet came in sixth, Transat seventh and Porter tenth. JetBlue Airways was second in North America, followed by Delta Air Lines.

For the world, the top three were Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and ANA All Nippon Airways.

The awards were handed out on Tuesday at the 53rd Paris Le Bourget International Air and Space Show in France.
