Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain: Gulf Air, the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, was recently honored at the Changi Airline Awards ceremony held in Singapore, winning the “Connectivity Award” and the “New Airline Award “.
Commenting on the achievement, Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Captain Waleed AlAlawi said, “We are delighted to have Gulf Air’s services and products recognized by the Changi Airline Awards. We constantly strive to deliver excellence to our passengers by improving a wide range of deliverables from our convenient flight schedules, numerous international and regional flights and a variety of ground and onboard products and services. Earning these awards is a reflection of Gulf Air’s continued commitment to meeting the ever-changing travel needs of our passengers; really putting us in “a class apart”.
The awards ceremony was being held for the first time in two years after a brief shutdown due to the pandemic. This comes after Singapore fully reopened its borders to travelers vaccinated against COVID-19 on April 1. As one of the few airlines that has never stopped flying during the pandemic, Gulf Air was recently awarded Skytrax Five Star COVID-19 Aviation Safety Rating after a rigorous Skytrax Research audit that took place between November and December 2021, to fly safely throughout the pandemic and improve its airport and onboard protocols to combat the spread of COVID-19. The airline also received the official Five Star Major airline rating from APEX; a reward based solely on feedback from certified passengers.
