KATHMANDU, 24 JANUARY
Himalaya Airlines, a Nepalese-Chinese joint venture, has become the first airline in Nepal to receive ISO 9001-2015 QMS certification.
The company received the certificate on December 29, 2021 in recognition of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) which complies with ISO 9001-2015.
The ISO certificate was issued to provide air transport of passengers and cargo, including aviation-related training services.
ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized quality management standard, developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) which ensures that products and services meet customer needs, through a quality management system effective.
Therefore, Himalaya Airlines has received ISO 9001:2015 certificate no. 120057/A/0001/UK/En by United Registrar of System and United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), after completion of the documentation procedure which included an audit process, verifying the quality management system of the company with respect to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Himalaya Airlines President Zhou Enyong congratulated the team and shared, “It is a proud moment for Himalaya to receive ISO 9001-2015 certification and a remarkable achievement of the team effort. It is an ongoing process for the company and we will continue to optimize the standardization of work in compliance with the rules at all levels.”
Likewise, the Vice President, Vijay Shrestha, expressed his joy at this remarkable achievement for the Himalaya team.
He added, “Through the team’s collaborative efforts to maintain high documentation standards company-wide, H9 was able to earn this ISO certification. This demonstrates Himalaya’s commitment to high performance working practices and is a significant confirmation of our ongoing commitment to quality.
The company’s previous achievement includes its first ISO certification for Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Services Quality Management System in August 2020.
